Pregnancy Care Canada Staff

Dr. Laura Lewis
Executive Director

Dr. Lewis has served as the Executive Director since May 2016. After working for 22 years as a family physician, she saw the need for education, support, and practical options for women and men facing an unexpected pregnancy. Dr. Lewis has a Hon. B. Comm degree from Queen’s University, a Medical Degree from the University of Western Ontario, and a certificate of Family Medicine from McMaster University.

Susan Dobson
Administrator and Event Planner

Susan joined the PCC team in August 2013, bringing with her over 15 years of experience providing administration and bookkeeping for a national non-profit organization. She holds a certificate in professional bookkeeping and is a skilled conference and event coordinator.

Rebecca Peters
Director of Communications and Resource Development

Rebecca is a gifted communicator, educator, and writer. Her background includes working for the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre for seven years, where she filled a variety of roles as a facilitator, administrator, and communications coordinator. Rebecca has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria.

Donna Bell
Centre Development and Leadership Support

Donna served as Executive Director of Kingston Pregnancy Care Centre for six years after working as a maternity nurse for over 20 years in postpartum, labour and delivery, and prenatal education. She has a Master’s Degree in Christian Leadership through CREST Leadership Centre.

Kimberley Jelley
Social Media Coordinator

For more than 20 years, Kimberley has worked and volunteered in the field of education. She is passionate about bringing support, resources, and hope to those in need. Kimberley has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Queen’s University and a Masters of Science in Education from Canisius College. As well as working for Pregnancy Care Canada, Kimberley works for the Island Pregnancy Centre as their Office Manager.

Irene Greer
Resource & Administrative Support

Irene is a returning member of our team. She had previously served with CAPSS for three years and worked at the Vernon Live Well Clinic for the last two. She loves providing support behind the scenes and has a variety of administrative skill sets, which she’s developed over 30 years working as a public servant prior to transitioning to pregnancy care.

Nataizya Mukwavi

Post Abortion Support National Coordinator

Nataizya is passionate about seeing people empowered & advocating for those marginalized in society. She has a degree in Biblical Studies, with a minor in Inter-cultural Studies from Columbia Bible College, and a certificate in Project Management at Cornell University. Nataizya launched The Girl Project, for marginalized girls in Zambia; and is the founder of Black Women Connect Vancouver. She is also currently the Executive Director of South Fraser Pregnancy Options in Surrey, BC.

Next Level Centre Accreditation Facilitators

Beth Gray

NLCA Facilitator

Beth has worked in many aspects of pregnancy care for 26 years – as a centre volunteer, an executive director for 12 years, part of the national staff for centre development and a consultant to established centres. Beth has a BA in sociology and theology and recently fulfilled the course of study to become a Fellow with the Colson Center. All these skills have equipped Beth for her current capacity as a consultant on the Hope Hub Team and as a facilitator of the Next Level Centre Accreditation process for pregnancy care centres.

Karen Milley

NLCA Facilitator

Karen has been a nurse for 40 years, working predominantly in community health. She completed a Bachelor of Nursing, a Masters of Health Science Management. In her last administrative role with a provincial health authority, Karen provided oversight to 350 health care professionals in 42 clinic locations working in public health, home health, and primary health care programs. Since retirement Karen works with the Focus on the Family Canada Hope Hub team and as a facilitator of the Next Level Centre Accreditation process for pregnancy care centres.

Doug Blair
Board Chair

Doug founded Bluewater Baptist, in Sarnia, and served as lead pastor for over 35 years. He is a graduate of the Dallas Seminary and continues to provide leadership on numerous national boards. His wife, Detra, served as Executive Director of the pregnancy care centre in Sarnia for many years, acquainting him with the importance of this work.

Terry Hall
Vice-Chair

Terry has a strong belief in the sanctity of life and family. This passion, coupled with an extensive business and management background in the technology industry, enhances the operational and financial strength of Pregnancy Care Canada.

Yohaan Thommy
Secretary

Yohaan works in management consulting and brings strong business acumen to Pregnancy Care Canada. As a father and husband, he has a passion for the important role of the family in Canada and an urgency to assist those who are contemplating tough decisions.

Heather Tapp
Director

Heather serves as Executive Director of the Belleville Pregnancy and Family Care Centre. She has helped in the establishment of two satellite centres – the Anchor of Hope in Madoc, ON, and the Pregnancy & Family Care of Quinte West in Trenton, ON.

Brian Norton
Director

Brian is a Pregnancy Care Canada co-founder and served as Executive Director of the Christian Advocacy Society (CAS) of Greater Vancouver. The CAS charity governs two pregnancy care centres, a residential shelter for abused women, a sexual assault recovery consortium, and OnlineCare Canada.

Michele Dawson
Director

Michele brings over twenty years of experience as a registered nurse and volunteer leader. As an RN, she specialized in newborn health, concentrating on intensive care of prematurely born infants and their families. She also has a Leadership Degree and has experience working within the health care system of four provinces from coast to coast in Canada.

Norma Cody
Director

Norma is the Executive Director of the Christian Advocacy Society in Vancouver, BC. For 16 years, Norma has worked as a pastoral counsellor, assisting women with crisis or short-term counselling needs related to an unexpected pregnancy, and with post abortion grief recovery, both in Canada and internationally. Norma holds a MA in Counselling from Cornerstone University.
